Hawk-billed mud turtles
The hawk-billed mud turtles are also called narrow-bridge box turtles , is a special species among egg turtles. It is expensive, strong in quality, and very interesting to raise. Dispersed:Verak Central Ruz, northern Oaxaca and southward through northern Guatemala to Belize City, beyond the Yucatan Peninsula.
Morphological characteristics: The carapace is brown, each vertebral scute and costal scute are full of black radial markings, and the marginal scute has small brown freckle. The plastron is light yellow, has 8 scutes, and lacks the laryngeal and humeral scutes.
Livelihood customs: It is an aquatic turtle and rests in lakes, swamps and shoals of rivers.
Growing customs:Oviparous. The construction of nests on narrow bridges usually takes place from the driest month of November to the latest in February. During this period, the irritable narrow bridges often attack. Several clutches of eggs may be laid at this time, and there are usually only 2 to 3 eggs in a clutch, with crisp and hard shells and oval eggs
Food habits :Carnivorous, feeding on frogs, invertebrates and fish.
