Morphological characteristics of monitor lizard
Monitor lizard

The body length of a newborn monitor lizard is 5-6 inches, and the adult body length is about 3-4 feet. The ideal body weight should be between 10-13 pounds. Because of their larger size as adults, only larvae monitor lizards are sold in shopping malls.
The head of the monitor lizard is wider than that of other monitor lizards and is covered with tiny scales. The neck is short and has a thick and short tail. The body is usually brown or gray, with multiple rows of yellow to orange dots on the back. There is a long blue forked tongue.
