Morphological Characteristics of Eye-spotted Monitor Lizard
Eye-spotted Monitor Lizard

The typical characteristic of the eye-spotted monitor lizard is that the large patterns on its body are very obvious. It is the largest among Australian lizards. The longest body length can reach 2.5m, and the heaviest body weight can reach 20kg.
The eye-spotted monitor lizard is named after the eye-shaped patterns all over its body (in Japan, it is described as water drop-shaped). The special shape of its eyelids gives it a sad look on its face, which is a comparison with the original species. Funny and charismatic. The average length of the eye-spotted monitor lizard is 1.75-2 meters and weighs 15 kilograms. They are heavier and stronger than the round-nosed monitor lizard, but shorter. They appear relatively young compared to Komodo dragons or Sargasso dragons (certain introduction).
