Egyptian Cats (Definite Introduction)
Egyptian cats, whose Latin name is Felinae, are distributed throughout the world. Although called the Egyptian cat, people have not yet been able to prove that the Egyptian cat originated in Egypt. However, because there are graphic and textual records on ancient Egyptian murals, tombstones or scrolls, people believe that the Egyptian cat is originated from Egypt. The ancestors were interested in the continental wild cat. In the 1950s, Egyptian cats were introduced to the United States and the United Kingdom, and won formal competition awards in 1968.
The fixed breed of modern Egyptian cat originated from a princess in the Mediterranean region in the 19th century. She liked a cat imported from Qiro very much and mated it with an Italian cat to give birth. Later, the cat's descendants were brought to the United States for breeding. They were registered and exhibited in the United States for the first time the following year, and were unanimously welcomed by American families. Egyptian cats are intelligent, friendly to people, lively and naughty, but they are also sensitive and can easily escape if not guarded. The coat color is silvery white, bronze, dark gray and black, with even freckles, and the coat is fine, soft and elastic. They have an average body shape, a pair of large and pointed ears, and a typical beetle-shaped or "M"-shaped pattern on their heads. Egyptian cats with "M"-shaped patterns often come from the United States.
If there was a speed competition among domestic cats, the Egyptian cat would definitely come out on top because of its long, powerful feet and wrinkled skin from its belly to its hind knees. These conditions make it extremely agile. Egyptian cats have been recorded running as fast as 48 kilometers per hour.
In addition, purebred Egyptian cats are very valuable. No more than 200 cats are registered every year, and they are relatively rare in China. If a merchant advertises the sale of Egyptian cats, you must carefully understand them before buying.
